Red and White Ball
Five hundred gala-attired partygoers made the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center’s 6th annual Red and White Ball at the Marriott Rivercenter another smashing success. This year’s ball raised more than $300,000 to benefit the Blood and Tissue Center’s Texas Cord Blood Bank. The special blood bank collects cord blood, which is rich in blood-making cells that can be used to treat patients with certain cancers and fatal blood disorders. It’s the first public umbilical cord blood bank in Texas and one of only a few public cord blood banks in the United States |
